$300 towards $1,000

With your help, Jarvis can raise money needed to provide health care and hope to our neighbors in need.

Jarvis Parsons is the current Brazos County District Attorney. He was an assistant D.A. for 10 years and then took over in 2013. He is one of only three African American elected District Attorney's in the State of Texas. As District Attorney Parsons created Brazos County's first ever Crimes Against Women Unit focusing on domestic violence and sexual assault. Additionally, he partnered with the local salons to institute "Cut It Out" Program here in the Brazos Valley, where his office has trained over 200 hair stylists in recognizing the signs and domestic violence.

On a statewide level, Jarvis Parsons was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Texas Forensic Science Commission, an agency that investigates allegations of professional misconduct that would affect the integrity of criminal cases. Additionally, he is on the Executive Board of the Texas District and County Attorneys Association (TDCAA) which oversees training for over 1500 Texas prosecutors. He also is the head of the TDCAA Diversity, Recruitment and Retention Committee, which focuses on encouraging young minority prosecutors to use their gifts and talents in the field of prosecution.

Jarvis is married to Amiee Parsons and they have one daughter Erin. He loves playing tennis with his daughter and going to movies. Jarvis serves as a board member of the Scotty's House Child Advocacy Center, the Sexual Assault Resource Center and he is a member of the College Station Noon Lions Club.

The competition better watch out. Growing up Jarvis and his cousin used to dance all the time...not like the foxtrot or waltz or anything...but still.

A MESSAGE FROM JARVIS:

The gift of health is one of the most important gifts a person can receive. I guess when it comes down to it, I feel that people who are sick and don't have a place to go need places like Health For All. They are the real heroes. So, if me embarrassing myself is what I can do to help- then let the embarrassment begin.

Just a small donation will go a long way to helping me meet my goal!
